The invention relates to packaging for additives, especially food additives, which are added to food and beverages in sealed glass, cardboard or plastic containers. The packaging is characterized by a tight, closed compartment assigned to the container and designed to accommodate a given volume of additives to be added to the food or beverage just before consumption. Said compartment is formed as an additional element to the container and is made out of a thin-walled metal or plastic material which is easy to open so that the additives can be removed.
