SUPPORT FOR A MACHINE TOOL PORTAL DRIVEN BY LINEAR MOTORS ON BOTH SIDES

The invention relates to a support for a machine tool portal (1) which is driven by linear motors (4) on both sides. Said linear motors (4) are guided on fixed rails (3) which run parallel to each other. The machine portal bridge (10) is supported on friction surfaces (6) by the fixed bearings (3, 5) of the linear motors with bolts (9a, 9b), in such a way that it is pressed onto the friction surfaces by a defined elastic force. Said bolts can rotate around themselves and are positioned in long holes (15) which are oriented in the longitudinal direction of the machine portal bridge (10). Said machine portal bridge (10) can be supported on one side on the friction surface by means of a bolt (9b) located in a long hole (15) oriented in the longitudinal direction of the machine portal bridge (10). The bolts (9b) in the long holes (15) have lateral areas (16) with which they rest on the longitudinal walls of the long holes (15). The pressing elastic force can be adjusted with adjusting screws (7), said screws being independent of the rotary bolts (9a, 9b). In the event of strains in the machine portal bridge (10) or in the event that the rails (3) deviate from their parallel course, the lateral forces which this generates can be balanced out by the movement of the supporting plate (11) on the friction plate (6), said forces being guided in the long holes (15). Breakdowns, particularly breakdowns caused by the linear motors (4) running asynchronously or even counter to one another are avoided by the supporting plates (11) turning on the friction plates (6) around the bolts (9a, 9b). The working position of the machine portal bridge (10) can be re-established following a breakdown by regulating one linear motor (4).
