STEEL PLATES FOR DRUM CANS, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND DRUM CAN

Steel plates for manufacturing drum cans; one with its N content set to 0.00500.0200 wt.% to increase solid solution of N, and the other with its Nb content set to 0.003-0.10 wt.% to fine an average crystal grain size; these steel plates having high normal-temperature and high-temperature strengths and a high low-temperature tenacity as compared with a conventional steel plate of this kind. A drum can using these steel plates and, as a result, having a high recycling frequency, a thin wall thickness and a light weight as compared with a conventional one; and a method of reliably manufacturing such steel plates.
