The invention relates to substituted alkenoic acids and their derivatives, said substituted alkenoic acids being of formula (I), wherein R<1> represents hydroxy, amino, alkoxy, alkylamino, dialkylamino, arylalkoxy or arylalkylamino, R<2> represents hydrogen, halogen or alkyl, R<3> represents hydrogen or alkyl, R<4> represents hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkylalkyl, R<5> represents hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkylalkyl, R<6> represents hydrogen or alkyl and Z represents the grouping R<7>-N or the grouping (R<8>) (R<9>)C, R<7> representing hydrogen, hydroxy, amino, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkenyl, alkinyl, alkenyloxy, cycloalkyl, cycloalkyloxy, cycloalkyloxy, cycloalkylamino, cycloalkylalkyl, cycloalkylalkoxy, cycloalkylalkylamino, aryl, aryloxy, arylamino, arylalkyl, arylalkoxy, arylalkylamino, heterocyclyl, heterocyclylamino, heterocyclylalkyl or heterocyclylalkylamino, or one of the following groupings: A<3>-O-N=C(A<2>)-CH(A<1>)-O- or A<3>-O-N=C(A<2>-C(A<1>=N-, A<1> representing hydrogen or alkyl, A<2> representing hydrogen, cyano, alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, A<2> representing hydrogen, cyano, alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, A<3> representing hydrogen or alkyl, R<8> representing hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, aryl or arylalkyl, and R<9> representing hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, aryl or arylalkyl. The invention also relates to methods for producing the substituted alkenoic acids and their derivatives, and to their use as fungicides.
