PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To charge secondary batteries without mistaking for full charging the additional connection of another secondary battery while charging the secondary batteries by initializing the charge control of the secondary battery if any change is detected, in the number of the connected secondary batteries while charging, and resetting charging conditions. SOLUTION: A charge control circuit 10 starts charging secondary batteries connected to battery connecting terminals 6a to 6d with a charging switch 11 switched on. While charging the secondary batteries, detecting circuits 7a to 7d continuously detects the number of connected secondary batteries. If any change is detected in the number of the connected secondary batteries, the charge control circuit 10 initializes charge control to reset a charging current matching the change in the number of the secondary batteries connected. If no change is detected in the number of the connected secondary batteries, the charge control circuit 10 determines full charging when a voltage detecting circuit 9 detects that the voltage of the secondary batteries has reached a peak value. |
