<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcasting program video recording method capable of sufficiently utilizing the remaining amount of a recording medium. SOLUTION: In a method for recording a broadcasting program video in a broadcasting program video recording device, the service information of a broadcasting program transmitted from a broadcasting station are received, the televising time of the broadcasting program recorded from the service information of the broadcasting program is detected, the remaining amount of a recording medium in which the broadcasting program video is recorded is detected (process 32). Then, the optimum video compressing ratio is calculated based on the televising time of the broadcasting program video to be recorded and the remaining amount of the recording medium (process 34). Then, the broadcasting program video is recorded on the recording medium based on the calculated optimum video compressing ratio (process 40).</p> |
