<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unnecessitate mechanical operation for each data block accompanying ROR(read-opposite-retry) processing and to drastically shorten processing time by transferring the data in a buffer even when read-black commands are continuously issued. SOLUTION: When the read-back commands are received from a host device (S1), plural data blocks are read out (S2), and when a read-out position in an MTU (magnetic tape unit) is satisfied with a prescribed condition (S3 to YES rout), plural data blocks from the above read-out position to a read-back command starting position are read out in the forward direction and are written in the data buffer (S4). Then, the read commands on the individual data blocks are stored in order opposite to read-out sequence of the data blocks in a command cue (S5), and afterward, in response to the read commands from the host device, the data blocks in the data buffer are read out in order of the read commands in the command cue, and are data-expanded and then transferred to the host device (S6).</p> |
