PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of suppressing futile power consumption and performing double-side reading. SOLUTION: This reader is constituted of a 1st means system having an SBU part 17 of a 1st reading means, an SIP3 (45) for correcting a signal from the SBU part and DRAM 54 for storing the signal corrected by the SIP3 (45), a 2nd means system having a contact sensor 31 and RSUB part 30 of 2nd reading means, an SIP3 (35) for correcting signals from the 2nd reading means and DRAM 37 for storing the signals corrected by the SIP3 (35), and a power source control part for controlling the supply of power to the 1st and 2nd means systems corresponding to the operating mode designated through a user interface. Thus, since power can be supplied only to the required device, the power consumption of the image reader can be reduced. |
