<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a variable length short cell switch by which low speed voice data or the like are switched efficiently with a small delay in ATM communication. SOLUTION: The switch sends a variable length short cell from line terminal interface sections 301-30n or common trunk sections 401-40n to a short cell bus 1 used in common for incoming and outgoing paths according to an instruction from a short cell bus control section arbiter section 2. Then switching is conducted by allowing the different or the same line terminal interface sections 301-30n or common trunk sections 401-40n according to the instruction from the short cell bus control section arbiter section 2 to receive a short cell from the short cell bus.</p> |
