METHOD FOR MANAGING CACHE IN CROSS REFERENCE WITH ADDRESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To build up and operate a large scale virtual network easily and properly by relieving a load so as to make a backbone network broad in the case of coping with a change in an address cross reference. SOLUTION: When an external terminal 11 moves and an address cross reference relation changes, an intermediate connector 3 receiving a packet from an external terminal 10 to the external terminal 11 transfers the packet to an intermediate connector 4 based on an old address cross reference stored in its own cache. The intermediate connector 4 receiving it fails to retrieval of a contained network/terminal address table to inform it to the intermediate connector 3 that the cache is invalid. Thus, the intermediate connector 3 aborts the entry of the cache and inquires of an address cross reference device 5 to acquire the newest address cross reference and to write it in its cache and transfers the packet to an intermediate connector 2.
