<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the detection probability of a reference block similar to a present image block and to dynamic image data of high compressibility. SOLUTION: The reference area 6 of M pixels is set in a reference image 2 against the present image blocks 5 of N pixels in a present image. Then, the plural first reference blocks 7 of N pixels are set in accordance with plural combination patterns 9 from the reference area 6 which is set. Similarity between the first reference blocks 7 and the present image blocks 5 is calculated and it is compared with a threshold. When the reference blocks 7 similar to the present image blocks 5 are detected, the codes of the present image blocks 5 are constituted based on the combination pattern 9 of the pertinent reference blocks 7.</p> |
