PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attractive optical disk as a merchandise product and a method for manufacturing the optical disk by which the optical disk is manufactured at low cost by the effective utilization of the outer peripheral part of the optical disk. SOLUTION: The optical disk 1 has a center hole 2 for attachment at the central part and a hollow, circular data storage region 3 at the inner peripheral part, and a pit is formed in this data storage region 3. The data storage region 3 is covered with an optical reflection film 5a. Further, an optical reflection film 5b and an optical reflection film 5c are formed in discontinuity with the data storage region 3 so that a desired multicolor pattern is constituted at the outer peripheral part 4 of the optical disk on the outer side thereof. These optical reflection film 5b and optical reflection film 5c are formed by depositing metal such as gold and titanium by evaporation on an area not covered with plural masks. Further, the multicolor pattern may be formed on the outer peripheral part 4 of the optical disk by printing. |
