PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weight reducible electric wire by arranging an anchor conductive layer by a composite conductive material composed of conductive particles or flakes and a high polymer matrix, a strike plating layer by electroplating and an electrically good conductive metallic layer composed of a thickly plating layer in order on an outer periphery of an aluminium conductor or an aluminium alloy conductor. SOLUTION: An anchor conductive layer 2 by a composite conductive material composed of conductive particles and a high polymer matrix, a strike plating layer 3a by electroplating and and an electrically good conductive metallic layer 3 composed of a thickly plating layer 3b, are arranged on an outer periphery of an Al conductor 1. Since the electrically good conductive metallic layer 3 can be thinly formed by electroplating, a plated Al electric wire 10 can be reduced in weight. An Al electric wire can be reduce further in weight since the cross-sectional area ratio of the Al conductor 1 to the plated Al electric wire 10 is not less than 85%. The conductive particles are alloy or graphite mainly composed of gold, silver and copper, and form the anchor conductive layer 2 by dispersing in the high polymer matrix.
