PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of a fluorine-contained material, and satisfy high proton conductivity and long durability at high temperature at the same time by using sulfonated polyaryl ether sulfone having the specified structure in an ion-exchange membrane and a catalyst layer. SOLUTION: Sulfonated polyaryl ether sulfone represented by the formula is contained in an ion-exchange membrane and/or a catalyst layer of a membrane-electrode bonding body. In the formula (a) is an integer of 1-4, (p) is an integer of 1-5, (n) is an integer of 2-1,000, X represents H or a mono to tetra relent metal, Ar represents an aromatic residue. The catalyst layer is made of a catalyst covered with sulfonated polyarl ether sulfone, and the ion-exchange membrane is preferably a fluorine-contained polymer having a sulfone group. The equipment weight of the sulfonated polyaryl ether sulfone is preferably 150-2,000 g/eq. The sulfonated polyaryl ether sulfone is obtained by reacting polyaryl ether sulfone with a well-known sulfonating agent. |
