PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the density of energy by using carbon electrodes of different pore diameter distribution as positive and negative polarizable electrodes. SOLUTION: Active carbon is used for polarizable electrodes on positive and negative sides with pore distribution suitable for ion diameter of respective electrolytic solutions. That is, with respect to the effective ion diameter generated by an effect such as ionization of the electrolytic solution and its solvation, when the diameter of cation is larger than that of anion, the pore diameter of the polarizable electrode on the negative electrode side is made larger than that of the polarizable electrode on the positive electrode side. In this way, excellent properties can be obtained in regard to both electrode capacitance and internal resistance. |
