NEW MATERIAL:A beta2-microglobulin analog in which amino acid at the 17th position from the amino terminal is aspartic acid. USE:Useful for developing diagnostic agents for carpal tunnel syndromes which are complications of patients under long-period dialysis, because the afore mentioned substance is considered as a causal substance of the aforementioned syndrome. PREPARATION:An ultrafiltrate in blood dialysis of a patient suffering from chronic hepatic insufficiency is initially desalted and subsequently freeze-dried. The aforementioned freeze-dried powder is then subjected to anion exchange chromatography and the resultant beta2-microglobulin fraction is treated by gel chromatography. The above-mentioned active fraction is then subjected to chromatofocusing chromatography to provide a conventional beta2-microglobulin fraction and beta2-microglobulin analog fraction, which is subsequently purified. |
