PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently develop the effect of a backlight by uniformly fixing particles to the surface of a polarizing plate with an adhesive. SOLUTION: The polarizing plate is an optical laminated body comprising a polarizing film and a protective film laminated on one or both surfaces and has fine particles fixed with an adhesive or the like to at least one surface of the plate. As for the particles, bead-like fine particles comprising a thermoplastic resin, single polymer or copolymer of monomers having two or more double bonds in the molecule, a thermosetting resin, or inorg. material can be used. The average particle size of the particles is 0.5 to 10 μm, and more preferably 1 to 7 μm. It is preferable that the fine particles are preliminarily coated with an adhesive and then fixed (applied). As for the adhesive, an adhesive which is hardened by irradiation of active energy rays such as UV rays, by heat and/or by moisture is preferably used. In order to apply the adhesive on the surfaces of the fine particles, the fine particles are dispersed in an adhesive compsn, filtered and dried. |
