PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect deformation generated along the lengthwise direction of a dike easily. SOLUTION: This detector is provided with an optical fiber 20 arranged along the lengthwise direction of a dike 10, fixing members 30 which fix the optical fiber 20 on the dike at certain intervals, and a measuring instrument 40 which measures the elongation or deformation of the optical fiber 20. When the dike is deformed by receiving external force, elongation or deformation occurs in the optical fiber. It is thus possible to detect the deformation of the dike by measuring the elongation or deformation of the optical fiber with the measuring instrument.
