PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily produce a conductive drum for making image quality high, without generating wrinkles on the surface of a dielectric layer, even if the conductive drum is left standing at a high temperature. SOLUTION: A conductive drum main body 1a and a dielectric layer forming member 4a are prepared respectively, the conductive drum main body 1a is constituted in such a manner that a foamed conductive layer 3 is cylindrically formed in a noncompressed state, on the outer periphery of a cylindrical conductive core metal 2 and the dielectric layer forming member 4a is of a cylindrical body serving as the dielectric layer 4 and has an inside diameter smaller than the outside diameter of the conductive drum 1a. The foamed conductive layer 3 of the conductive drum 1a is fluid-pressurized from an outer peripheral side, so that outside diameter of the conductive drum 1a is made smaller than the inside diameter of the dielectric layer forming member 4a. Then, the conductive drum 1a whose outside diameter is made smaller is concentrically covered with the cylindrical dielectric layer forming member 4a, to release the fluid pressurization of the foamed conductive layer 3. Thus, in a state where the dielectric layer forming member 4a compresses the foamed conductive layer 3 of the conductive drum 1a, the member 4a is integrated to the drum 1a, to form the dielectric layer 4. |
