PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a soil improving agent capable of decomposing after using, free from accumulation to soil, capable of promoting growth of roots, leaves or the like of plants and remarkably excellent in water holding capacity by including a crosslinked polyamino acid-based resin as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This soil improving agent is obtained by including (A) 5-100 wt.%, preferably 10-100 wt.% crosslinked polyamino acid-based resin which is a crosslinked acidic polyamino acid-based resin (e.g. a crosslinked polyaspartic acid-based resin), preferably capable of absorbing city water, preferably in an amount of >=50 times by dried weight and (B) as necessary, water, a fertilizer, an organic raw material, a pH adjuster, a corrosive substance, a compost, a mineral substance powdered material for improving water-retaining and fertilizer-retaining properties, an agrochemical, a plant-vitalizing agent, a plant- life prolonging agent, an insect pest and an animal repellent, diatomaceous earth, clay, lime, a plant hormone or the like. The soil improving agent is used for cells used for agricultural lands such as paddy field or upland, dry land such as desert or sand dune, raising of seedlings or the like, pots and containers, and artificial ground soil or the like for central reservation of road, street trees and interior admiration. |
