PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce lateral force on a compression coil spring externally inserted on a shock absorber. SOLUTION: For this absorber, the winding diameter of the terminal on the side of the lower sheet 4 of a compression coil spring 5 is gradually reduced and the lower sheet 4 is formed in an inversely conical shape with the terminal having the contact length to be gradually greater as the compression coil spring 5 is contracted, or the winding diameter of the terminal on the side of the lower sheet 4 of the compression coil spring 5 is gradually increased and the lower sheet 4 is formed in a conical shape with the terminal having the contact length to be gradually greater as the compression coil spring 5 is contracted, so that the effective winding number of the compression coil spring 5 can be changed as it is contracted and elongated, thus to reduce lateral force. |
