POWDER COATING MATERIAL FOR OUTER SURFACE OF CAST-IRON PIPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder coating material for the coating of the outer surface of a cast-iron pipe, having excellent effect to suppress the consumption of residual chlorine in city water and exhibiting excellent weather resistance. SOLUTION: A powder coating material for the coating of the outer surface of a cast-iron pipe is prepared by using an acrylic resin and an epoxy compound as the base resin and adding silica having an average particle diameter of 1-50μm without adding a nitrogen-based curing agent and the gel time of the material at 180 deg.C (roping method) is adjusted to 10-200 sec. The powder coating material is preferably an acrylic-epoxy powder coating material containing 100 pts.wt. of an acrylic resin having an acid value of 10-150 and an epoxy compound having a softening point or melting point of 50-150 deg.C at an equivalent ratio (carboxyl group : epoxy group) of 1:(0.6-1.6).
