PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To seal flat sealing surface ends with a comparatively simple structure by arranging a seal member on a position which receives seal pressure from the high pressure side in order for pressing the low pressure side. SOLUTION: A seal member 8 of a seal mechanism 7 which determines a high pressure side and a low pressure side utilizes one coil spring 9 for axial energization and the other coil spring 9 for diametral energization. It also utilizes the pressure difference between the high pressure side and the low pressure side as seal bearing. The seal member 8 has projections 10 which extend over all length of the seal surface, respectively on ends of a sliding surface faced to a casing 2 and a contact surface faced to a rotor shaft 1. The low pressure side sealing is carried out through the projections 10. An area of the seal member 8 exposed to the low pressure side is thus increased, and force generated by the pressure difference is also increased. The contact surface pressure at the sealed part is larger than the pressure to be applied to the high pressure side. The force of the coil spring 9, to be applied for pressing the seal member 8, is thus suppressed. |
