PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always obtain adequate image blur correcting effect by generating an image blur correcting signal based on the decision result of a panning deciding means and the information of a panning direction detected by a panning direction detecting means. SOLUTION: A yaw angular velocity sensor 12 detects the horizontal vibration of an image pickup device. A pitch angular velocity sensor 13 detects vertical vibration. A correcting optical system 14 corrects image blur by performing sliding or rotational displacement. A yaw correcting actuator 15 horizontally drives the system 14. A pitch correcting actuator 16 vertically drives the system 14. A horizontal position sensor 17 detects the horizontal position of the system 14. A vertical position sensor 18 detects the position of the system 14. A microcomputer 11 outputs the image blur correcting signal based on decision result by the panning deciding means and the information of the panning direction detected by the panning direction detecting means, and the system 14 performs the blur correction of the photographic image of the image pickup device. |
