PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject molding material excellent in heat resistance, clearness and mechanical properties. SOLUTION: This molding material for lamp reflectors contains 80-100 wt.% of a polyphenylene ether-based resin as resin component, being >=0.05 wt.% in the fraction impassable through a 325-mesh sieve when the resin component is dissolved in chloroform, and having a heat distortion temperature of >=160 deg.C. This molding material is obtained, for example, by holding the resin component at <=360 deg.C followed by kneading the resin component in a molten state under a specific energy of >=0.5 kwh/kg. |
