PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the spalling resistance without damaging wetting resistance and eroding resistance by arranging a closeness intermediate layer between a porous brick and an outer ring and making the coefficient of thermal expansion of the intermediate layer at smaller than the coefficient of thermal expansion of the porous brick and the outer ring. SOLUTION: The porous plug 1 is provided with the truncated conical body shaped porous brick 2 constituting a plug body at the center part and the sleeve- like outer ring 4 is arranged through the closeness intermediate layer 3 so as to surround the porous brick 2, and this outer ring 4 is covered with an iron shell 5 from the outside and reinforced. The outer ring 4 is formed with a high alumina quality fired brick or a high alumina quality, etc., of castable precast. The intermediate layer 3 has 2.5×10<-6> -5.5×10<-6> / deg.C coefficient of thermal expansion. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the intermediate layer 3 is smaller than the coefficient of thermal expansions of the porous brick 2 and the outer ring 4.
