The invention concerns a method for coating cheese which consists in applying directly on the cheese to be coated successively at least a layer of a hydrophobic edible composition, and at least a layer of a hydrophilic edible composition, an emulsifying agent being present in the hydrophobic layer adjacent to a hydrophilic layer, the hydrophilic layer adjacent to a hydrophobic layer or to the interface between a hydrophobic layer and a hydrophilic layer. |
