PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress hunting and resultant shocks during a switchover of the power transmission route of a continuously variable transmission designed to switch over its power transmission route to a selected one out of plural ones. SOLUTION: A continuously variable transmission controller comprises a control unit 300, which presets the speed-change characteristics of a continuously variable transmission for each engine load and vehicle speed as well as stores speed-change characteristics for acceleration only and speed-change characteristics for deceleration only, both as those characteristics for the same engine load, individually on either side of the running region for a power transmission route switchover. |
