PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow optical access, with ease, for inspecting current state of a living cell, especially for detecting a denaturation reaction during measurement process. SOLUTION: A measuring instrument 1 measures physiological, chemical, and physical characteristics of one or more living cells 3 so coupled to the measuring instrument 1 as not to be moved, with a plurality of sensors 4 provided on a supporting body 2. Here, at least a part of the sensor 4 is allocated in matrix array as an optical sensor, the array's dimension is at least equal to an area on the supporting body 2 which is occupied by one of the living cells, an electronic switching device is connected to the optical sensor 4, the optical sensor 4's output is selectively sampled and supplied to a signal analyzing device 7, and the switching device receives a control signal from a control device. |
