Protective gas cooker cover comprises a layer of material (1) with two, four, or six holes for the burners, the holes being edges by strips (2) of a material which is much more resistant to high temperatures than the cover itself. The cover is made from Kevlar mesh, covered on both sides by shrunken layer of aluminium foil, from glass fiber with a shrunken aluminium film and polyester covering on one side, or from a ceramic fiber. The reinforcing strips for the edges of the burner holes are made from aluminised and siliconised glass fibers, able to resist spot temperatures up to about 1,000 deg C. The outer edge of the cover also has a protective strip, and the cover is held in place by four strips of double sided siliconised and self-adhesive material.
