PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sufficient fog-preventing function or a sufficient heat development-accelerating function of an N-containing heterocyclic compound by adding only a specified part of a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic N-containing compound to a photosensitive layer and the rest to another layer. SOLUTION: This photosensitive material is provided with >=2 layers on a support and one of them is the photosensitive layer containing silver halide and any one of them contains a reducing agent and an ethylenically unsaturated polymerizable compound or an ethylenically unsaturated cross-linkable polymer and a 5- or 6-membered N-containing heterocyclic compound, and this compound is contained in an amount of 1-30 weight % in the photosensitive silver halide layer, and the rest in an amount of 70-99 weight % in the other layer. The total amount of the N-containing heterocyclic compound is, preferably, 0.001-10 mol.% of the silver halide, and it is preferred for this heterocyclic compound to be a 5-membered ring to a 6-membered ring, and the 5-membered ring is embodied by a thiazol, oxazole, diazole, and triazole rings and the like. |
