PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new product useful for optical, dynamic applications or the like by using a liquid crystalline polymer having a fixed oriented structure in a smectic CA (SCA) phase. SOLUTION: This film comprises a liquid crystalline polymer having a fixed oriented structure in an SCA phase having a phase structure in which the tilt direction of a mesogen alternately faces the opposite directions between the adjacent layers and is obtained by regulating an angleϕbetween a C-director meaning a unit vector facing the same direction as the vector obtained by projecting an orientation vector onto a smectic plane and the film plane so as not to be 0 deg.. The angleϕis preferably >=60 deg.. A main chain type liquid crystalline polymer is preferred as the liquid crystalline polymer. Above all, a polyimide and a polyester are preferred. For example, a liquid crystalline polymer represented by the formula is cited. The objective product is obtained by carrying out a drawing treatment of, e.g. a liquid crystalline polymer manifesting the SCA phase in a temperature region assuming the isotropic state thereof and then cooling the drawn polymer.
