PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a color mixture caused by the back flow into a developing container, of a developer discharged from a developer discharge port by supplying a fresh developer into the developer container and simultaneously, discharging a surplus developer, in a first stopping position. SOLUTION: The developer in the developing container 61 is discharged to one end of the developer discharge cylinder 71 of a developer discharge device from a discharge port connecting part connected to the developer discharge port 68, in the first stopping position P1. The developer after being discharged is carried along a rotary shaft DO in the developer discharge cylinder 71 by a discharged developer carrying member 72 and discharged from a recovering container communicative part at the other end of the discharge cylinder 71, to be recovered into a developer recovering container communicated with the recovering container communicative part. Therefore, even if developing units Dk, Dy, Dm and Dc are rotationally moved to positions except the first stopping position P1, so that the developer discharge ports 68 are arranged over the developing containers 61, the back flows into the developer containers 61, of the surplus developers after being discharged from the developer discharge ports 68, in the first stopping position P1 hardly occurs. |
