The invention concerns a method for preparing arylaminoalkylidenemalonate derivatives corresponding to general formula (I) consisting in reacting, in one single step, an aromatic amine (II) with an alkyl malonate (III) and an ester (IV) or an orthoester (IV') in the presence of a solid catalyst with lamellar structure of clay type such an aluminosilate activated by acid treatment and a condensation reagent of carboxylic acid or carboxylic anhydride type. The invention also concerns a method for obtaining 4-hydroxyquinoline-3-carboxylic acid derivatives or corresponding esters from arylaminoalkylidenemalonates (I) prepared by said method.
