REMOVAL OF HALOGEN COMPOUND IN HEAT-DECOMPOSED GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover an oil having an extremely low halogen content from a plastic waste. SOLUTION: A halogen-removing equipment is composed of a heat- decomposing furnace 1 heat-decomposing a plastic waste, a neutralization- treating tank 3 removing halogen compounds mainly in inorganic phase from a decomposed gas generated in the heat-decomposing furnace 1, a halogen immobilizing tank 4 removing halogen compounds mainly in organic phase from the decomposed gas, a condenser 5 for cooling, condensing and liquefying the decomposed gas and a gas-liquid separation tank 6 for separating generated oil and gas. The resultant oil can be re-utilized as a fuel for electric power generation or a fuel for motive power without fear of corrosion nor environmental pollution because an oil having low halogen content can be recovered by the process.
