<p>An apparatus (10) for tranferring articles (8) onto a moving carrier (3), the apparatus (10) including a conveyor (6) for transporting articles (8), drive means (20) for moving a carrier (3), and coordinating means. The coordinating means is capable of controlling the relative movements of the conveyor (6) and the drive means (20) such that a carrier (3) being moved by the drive means (20) and the article (6) being transported by the conveyor (6) can be separately moved to a contact location at which the carrier (3) will contact the article (8) whilst both the carrier (3) and the article (8) are moving. Additionally the conveyor (6) and the carrier (3) are configured such that the article (8) is caused to be transferred onto the carrier (3) upon or following the carrier's initial contact with the article (8).</p> |
