Electrically-operated domestic appliance controlled via voice commands

The domestic appliance (1) has a voice-command function instead of, or in addition to, the standard manual operating controls, with identification of speech signals and conversion into corresponding operating commands for the appliance mechanical controller (2). The voice command function employs a processing unit with a control (4) programme which only allows successive speech signals to form an input command when they are entered within a defined time period.
