Load-transporting vehicle

The vehicle comprises a chassis (12) with standing platform (14) and one or more rear travel wheels (32) behind the platform. In front of the platform a bearing (15) on the chassis accommodates a steering column (16) with front wheel (20). An adjusting mechanism (42,44) moves travel wheels (32,40,56) between the positions for single- and multiple-track working. One at least (40) of these wheels can be movable onto the surface over which the vehicle travels, being typically swung down from an overhead position.
