The invention relates to a textile fabric (1) wherein one of the surfaces thereof is impregnated by at least one polymer (3) in such a way that said textile fabric (1) substantially incorporates the entire polymer (3) mass. The polymer (3) extends from one of the surfaces of the textile fabric (1) to part of the layer thickness thereof without substantially increasing the thickness of the textile fabric (1). The invention also relates to a method for producing a polymer impregnated textile fabric (1). Said polymer impregnated fabrics (1) are suitable for use as carpets or inner coverings in automobiles.
