Waste water flocculation settlement tank

A water treatment flocculation process has a number of tanks (10) in which particulate matter settles to the bottom for subsequent removal. A tank (10) has a raw water inlet (1) at the base and a clear water outlet (4) at the top. The water inlet (1) is opened and closed as required by an electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic remotely controlled valve (13). Sludge collection and removal tanks (8) are located between the main tanks (10) with which they are hydraulically linked. Sludge is removed from the tanks (8) by collectors (7) incorporating a pump-driven (11) sludge (6) outlet pipe.
