Compacting process for established dump of pre-compacted refuse

The process involves introducing a guide tube (4) into the dump ahead of a drop weight (5) which is moved on the tube and refuse deposits around the tube under the weight are displaced. The drop weight consists of a cylindrical ring around the tube and acts against an impact ring above the lower tube end. The top of the ring has fasteners (6) for e.g. excavator cables (7) etc. The advance end (22) of the tube is closed.
