This invention is a subcutaneous infusion set (12) for the subdermal infusion of fluids which includes a housing having an internal chamber (26), and within which a uniquely configured infusion cannula (30) is dynamically mounted. The cannula (30) which is generally spiral shaped, has a body portion (30a) that is disposed within the internal chamber (26), and a pierced portion (30d) which extends angularly outwardly from the base (14) of the infusion set (12). With this construction, when the infusion set (12) is interconnected with a patient normal movement by the patient will permit cannula (30) to move dynamically within the internal chamber (26), while the base (14) of the infusion set (12) which is removably affixed to the patient's skin, remains completely stationary.
