摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a titanium alloy sheet material which is excellent in surface quality and workability. SOLUTION: In this production method of a titanium alloy sheet material using the pack rolling slab made in a vacuum by high energy density welding, a release agent which consists of metal oxide or nitride with a particle size controlled within 325 meshes as a solid is applied on the surface of the titanium alloy or on the surface of the carbon steel which covers the titanium alloy facing to the alloy. The upper and lower surfaces and four periphery sides of the titanium alloy are covered by the carbon steel. An envelope of the carbon steel which contains the titanium alloy is made by electron beam welding and its inside is adjusted in a vacuum state of Z Torr less than 10<-2> Torr. The release agent applied on the surface of the envelope made of a carbon steel or on the surface of the titanium alloy stored in the carbon steel envelope, assuming that a solid contained in the agent is X% and application quantity of the release agents Y ml/m<2> , satisfies the formula, 5,000<=X.Y/(1-√Z)<=25,000. The hot rolling is conducted lender the condition that the titanium alloy exists in the envelope made of carbon steel in a vacuum state.
