PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To polish an optical fiber uniformly by member of cycloidal polished paths through a feed mechanism of a polishing plate by making it perform its deflective motion with an eccentric driving member as regulating the rotation of a deflecting block with a center rest means within the range of a specific angle. SOLUTION: A deflecting block 15 is rotatably fitted as centering on a pin 14 set upright in an eccentric position at a radius (r) of an eccentric disk 13, and it operates a circular deflective motion together with this pin 14. This deflecting block 15 is provided with a whirl-stop means 16 regulating its rotation. This whirl-stop means 16 is constituted by a lever rockably attached to a fixed point 16a at the side of a base body 3. This lever is slidably connected to a boss part 17 of the deflecting block 15, whereby a rotational motion of the deflecting block 16 is regulated in a constant rocking range, making it able to do a torsional motion forming a nearly circular circumferential turning track. In addition, an elastic stopper 25 temporarily comes into contact with the peripheral surface 23b when a circular support plate 23 supporting a polishing plate 4 is moved, restraining the operation. With this constitution, all the feed motion of this circular support plate 23 is carried out. |
