PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a shading and thermally insulating screen excellent in weather resistance without causing decrease of reflectivity even if the screen is exposed to a strong sunbeam, and useful for agriculture and horticulture, cultivation or the like by arranging specific narrow belt-like film laminates at a suitable interval. SOLUTION: This shading and thermally insulating screen is the one formed by arranging narrow belt-like film laminates (preferably having <=30μm thickness), parts of which are metal-deposited films obtained by depositing a metal such as aluminum on one surface of transparent films such as polyester films subjected to a biaxially orienting treatment, at a suitable interval, and the film laminate has a transparent film layer 1, a metal depositing layer 2, a binder layer 3, the metal depositing layer 4 and the transparent layer 5 in order. The shading and thermally insulating screen is obtained by laminating two metal deposited films through an adhesive so as to mutually face to metal face side, cutting the laminate into narrow width ones to provide the narrow belt-like film laminates, and carrying out weaving by using the obtained narrow belt-like film laminates as a weft at a suitable interval.
