PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hardly peelable lightweight surface decorating material by using an org. or inorg. expanded material in place of a specified amt. of a lightweight aggregate, using a thermoplastic synthetic resin as a binder, imparting a specified specific gravity and enabling plastic deformation. SOLUTION: The specified amt. is >=10 pts.wt. and the specified specific gravity is <1.5. The inorg. expanded material is, e.g. Shirasu(pumiceous sand) balloons or perlite obtd. by crushing and heat-expanding obsidian or pearlite. The org. expanded material is, e.g. EVA, polystyrene or PE. The thermoplastic synthetic resin is, e.g. acrylic resin, vinyl resin, thermoplastic urethane resin or epoxy resin. A thermoplastic rubber such as butadiene rubber or ethylene- propylene rubber may be used. When the binder is selected, its glass transition temp. is used as one index. A binder having a low glass transition temp. can impart plastic deformability to the surface decorating material. |
