PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable thermoreversible recording and erasing and high quality recording even after repeated rewriting by installing a thermoreversible recording membrane at least on one side of a backing and forming a transparent or translucent pattern layer on the recording membrane. SOLUTION: A thermoreversible recording membrane 3 is formed on one side of a backing 2, and a transparent or translucent pattern layer 4 is formed on the recording membrane 3. When a thermoreversible recording medium 1 of this composition is used, by repeated rewriting with the use of a thermal head printer, the smoothing of the pattern layer 4 takes place. Even when a pattern appears which may be recognized erroneously as a residual image by the difference in smoothness between a smoothed position and another position of the pattern layer 4, the pattern which appeared from the layer 4 is clearer to shield the pattern which may be recognized as a residual image. Therefore, durability in high quality repeated-rewriting improves. |
