<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device which can convey sheets stably through control of a motor of a conveying system based on an actual conveying speed of the sheets being conveyed and accurately and rapidly detect any generation of jamming. SOLUTION: In a sheet conveying device where a plurality of driving rollers and driven rollers which bring sheets, bodies to be conveyed, into pressure contact with the driving rollers are provided in the middle of a conveying path and that the sheets are conveyed by driving the plurality of driving rollers with a motor M1, it is so constituted that an encoder 60 is provided at the shaft of the motor M1 and encoders 54 to 57 are provided at the shaft of each of the driven rollers, respectively, outputs of these plural encoders 54 to 57 are selectively fed back to a servo circuit 62 of the motor M1 through a selection circuit 61. Also, a cycle of output signals (a) to (d) of the encoders 54 to 57 selected as a feedback signal is compared with a cycle of an output signal (e) of the encoder 60 of the motor M1 at a comparator 63, and when the former is larger than a predetermined proportion or value, it is determined as generation of jamming.</p> |
