PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photocatalytic filter that degrades org. matter such as oil, enables deodorization and sterilization and can be thickened by forming titanium dioxide coating films on the surfaces of substrates which transmit UV of a specified wavelength or below and laminating the substrates so that air can pass through the resultant filter. SOLUTION: Titanium dioxide coating films are formed around flat and corrugated quartz glass sheets 43, 44 which transmit UV of <=400 nm wavelength and the sheets 43, 44 are laminated in the form of corrugated cardboard through which air can pass to obtain the objective photocatalytic filter 4C. Since the filter 4C is entirely irradiated with UV and light excitation is caused at any part of the titanium dioxide coating films, air passing through ventholes 45 can be efficiently deodorized and sterilized. More efficient deodorization and sterilization are enabled by thickening the filter 4C. |
