PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve conversion ratio of cyclohexanone oxime and selectivity of ε-caprolactam by constituting the titled catalyst of a pentasil type zeolite whose crystal is an intergrowth with a no. of projections. SOLUTION: As a zeolite to be used, it is essential that a pentasil type zeolite each crystal of which is an intergrowth with a no. of projections (crystals) developed into cauliflower-like shapes is used. The zeolite used is a crystalline zeolite in which the crystal dimension is approximately 5 μm or smaller, ordinarily at most approximately 2 μm and the content (atomic ratio) of metal components except silicon is at most 1/500 of silicon. As the metals which may be incorporated in the crystal except silicon, Al, B, Fe, Ti, Zr, etc., are cited. There exist various crystal forms in the crystalline zeolite but in this case, those that belong to a pentasil type structure, above all, high silica zeolite with an MFI structure are pref. |
